FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time - Permanent, Year Round, Salaried

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year,  Dependent on Experience

Reports To: District Board

Supervises: 3-? Full Time and Seasonal Staff

JOB SUMMARY

Sheridan County Weed & Pest is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Weed & Pest District Supervisor to carry out the District’s programs according to the Federal and State Weed laws and policies approved by the Sheridan County Weed and Pest Board of Directors. The Supervisor will be in charge of the daily operations of the District, with oversight from the Weed and Pest District Board of Directors. Core responsibilities include education, strategic management of personnel and resources, and public relations.

 

The job entails exposure to extreme heat and cold under demanding physical conditions including lifting up to 50 pounds and walking over rough terrain.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Minimum Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in agribusiness, biology, natural resources, range management, or a related field

  • Must maintain Wyoming Driver’s License

  • Must obtain within first year of employment:  Commercial Applicator Pesticide License

  • Must obtain within first two years of employment: Wyoming Weed & Pest Council’s Supervisor Certification

 

PREFERED EXPERIENCE

  • Two years of commercial pesticide applications experience

  • Grant writing and administration

  • Business and personnel management or related experience
